It was a night full of sparkle as 10 women from various fields were honoured for their glamour.

Hosted at the beautiful Summer Place in Sandton on Tuesday night, the women were treated to an array of gifts, a luncheon and awards.

One of the honourees, actress Enhle Mbali Maphumulo, arrived with her husband Black Coffee. She wore a stylish Ryan Keys mini-dress with grey sneakers and wavy wet hair that matched her ensemble. Her look was refreshing and different for an awards evening.

URBAN FAIRY: Actress Enhle Mbali Maphumulo added a playful touch to her look by choosing designer high tops over heels for the event.

She jumped onto the stage with a carefree attitude when she went to receive her award.

Model and honouree Alyssa Cole wore a long, form-fitting silver sparkle dress.

She said glamour to her was “self love”.

“It is a feeling from within, and if you show it then you are glamorous.”

Radio personality and stage actress Taryn Louch was a bouncing ball of energy throughout the night.

“Glamour for me is in the way you carry yourself, it’s in your everyday. For me there is no on or off for glamour. You’re glamorous 24/7. It’s in your energy, your style and it’s just the message you give without having to open your mouth,” she said.

Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters came to show her support and stunned in a sleek black hairstyle and a red number. Also present at the event was ex-Miss SA Liesl Laurie, who wore a form-fitting sky blue suit for the evening.

Actress and singer Dineo Moeketsi was also honoured. She wore her favourite designer, Quiteria & George. The turtle-neck jersey grey piece and her dramatic make-up made her look like a modern ice maiden.

“Glamour means style, stepping out of the ordinary to be your extraordinary. Everything that you have ever dreamt of looking and feeling like and embracing that energy all the way through -100%,” she said.

Fashion designer Marianne Fassler, blogger Lulama Wolf, TV presenter Mishka Patel and Boity Thulo were also honoured.

Thulo’s mesh sequinned mini-dress made her look like a walking, sparkling glamorous chandelier. Everything from her hairstyle to her make-up and golden stilettos made her look one of the best of the night.

Two honourees, businesswoman Jenna McArthur and singer Cara Frew, weren’t able to attend the event.

Glamour editor Pnina Fenster said her favourite definition of glamour was the ancient one used by the Celts.

“To glamour is to cast a spell, to create magic, and that is what our 10 winners and all of you are doing here tonight. Creating magic and casting spells. And Lord knows the world has plenty of ugliness as it is, so let’s bring some beauty and pleasure into the scene,” she said.

Fenster ended off the night by reminding all the ladies that one woman’s alice band is another woman’s tiara.

The event was hosted by radio host, presenter and rapper Proverb.
