THE PARLOTONES are ready to play their last South African gigs this weekend before jetting off to Los Angeles.

The multi-platinum-selling band, who turned out hits such as Push Me to the Floor, It’s Magic and Life Design, have a hectic, jam-packed schedule.

There will be no time for the band to stop and take it all in.

They will perform their last Joburg concert tomorrow at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena before signing off with a performance in Cape Town on Sunday.

The last two shows before taking off for Los Angeles promise to be “unforgettably spectacular” for their home fans, who will still be able to stay in touch with the band via social media and their website.

They are due to land in Los Angeles on Tuesday and will perform their first show on Thursday at the Viper Room with an exclusive crowd of fans and some key industry players.

“Our next stop is the Grammys, to perform at Sunset Session in San Francisco, VH1’s Save the Music and a 30-city tour of the US kicking off in March,” said lead vocalist Kahn Morbee.

The group have opened for Grammy Award-winning British alternative-rock band Coldplay and US-based rock group Blue October.

In 2006 they won the best rock album, music video of the year and best-selling DVD.

They are also vocal ambassadors for Live Earth and Earth Hour, along with other celebrities such as Rihanna and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.

Tickets for their farewell tour are selling from R300 to R800. Discounts are available for group bookings. - The Star
