NO SUSPECTS have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Randburg supermarket manager on Sunday. The manager of the Spar in Jukskei Park died from his wounds after he was shot in a robbery at around 7.15pm.
About eight men entered his store and demanded money, according to police spokesman Warrant Officer Balan Muthan.
The men then took the manager to an office where the cash was kept and shot him before fleeing. While fleeing, the men also shot and wounded a security guard.
The gang then stole a security vehicle and used it as a getaway car, which was later found abandoned, by police. The police could not reveal the manager’s name, the motive for the shooting or how much was stolen, said Muthan.
No arrests had been made by late yesterday afternoon. Muthan said a task team would be set up to investigate the murder.
