l Yakoob Moola writes: The street lights in Grand Place, Lenasia Extension 1, have been not functioning for years. On the odd occasion when they do work (never for longer than a week or two), only half of them work and the other half stay on day and night. Over the past year, I have obtained four reference numbers by calling the City Power call centre and SMSing the fault to 32964.

I have communicated with more than 13 people via phone and e-mail (including an executive director, the former local councillor and the new councillor, who apparently is no longer in charge of the area). Can you please help to get the street lights working?

Moola writes again: All the street lights are working and have been for the past three to four weeks. I decided to wait a while before I sent an e-mail because previously the lights functioned only for a day or so before they went out again.

Hopefully, I won’t have to report any further disruptions.
