Everywhere you look, you find reports and comments on wage demands and subsidies, and jobs to be created. And the numbers are always in billions. No one ever says where all this money is coming from. The world economy is on the verge of collapse from mainly self-inflicted wounds.
In simple terms that means markets are shrinking or perhaps disappearing.
In SA the greatest demand for higher wages comes from a sector that produces nothing that could be sold in a market, namely the government sector.
Please explain where the markets are and what products are to be made for the economy to grow to such an extent that we can afford to pay our civil servants – no pun intended.
