As the only woman, Sheillah may be safe

It seems like yesterday when the 2014 edition of Big Brother Africa launched, but seven housemates have already been evicted and more are definitely going to be chopped come this Sunday.

Host IK is having the time of his life announcing the ones who get the chop.

Things are so hectic that right after Sunday’s eviction show, the contestants were tasked with yet another nomination session.

As it stands, Arthur, Kacey, Luis, Mr.265, Macky2 and Sheillah are up for eviction, so we’re seeing how they navigate their way through the house to try to save themselves.

Unlike before, when the head of house could save one person in the group, the rules have changed this year. The head of house now has to throw someone into the nominations group to make things more dramatic. The ripple effect of this rule is simply that heads of the house will not be as popular as they were in the past. In fact, when there is an opening to be head of the house, it is going to be a tough decision for most because with it comes immunity and impending enmity. In this case, the head of the house, JJ, ended up adding Frankie to the eviction list.

Based on the country of origin, Rwanda has both contestants, Arthur and Frankie, in the hot seat so the Rwandan people have more to lose. After all, it is their first time on the show, so it should be intriguing to see how far they can get in the competition.

Based on sex, Botswana’s Sheillah finds herself as the only woman in the pack and perhaps based on that, she will survive.

However, if we look at her relationships in the house, you can see that she is not that popular.

During the latest nomination session, Sheillah amassed an incredible 10 nominations.

In most cases, her fellow housemates said her attitude was ugly and she had a manipulative nature.

But, before we paint her as too bad, Macky2 (that’s like a bad e-mail ID, but that’s none of my business) has a whooping nine nominations and that possibly has to do with his attitude, too.

Mr 265 has five nominations, while Luis has four. Kacey Moore and Arthur sit at three apiece. Permithias has two, while Nhlanhla and Samantha each have only one.

For there to be a head of house, a lot of blood, sweat and tears had to be shed first.

The contestants had to go through several tasks and exercises until JJ finally got it.

Voting has since opened and it runs until Sunday morning.

The more you vote for your favourite nominated housemate, the better their chances of staying in the house and being named as the winner.
