Pop sensation Justin Bieber wants his army of ‘Beliebers’ to keep the faith. The singer was in a contrite mood after pictures of him smoking what looked like a joint surfaced. Gossip site TMZ released the photograph which it claimed was taken on the day a paparazzo was killed while tailing Bieber’s white Ferrari.

In the pictures, which were taken in a hotel room in California on January 2, Bieber is snapped holding a roll-up while chatting with friends. TMZ’s sources at the hotel claim Bieber was there with rapper Lil Twist and “there was a lot of pot smoke”.

Ironically, just hours before he died, paparazzo Chris Guerra claimed Bieber was smoking weed before setting off after the star’s car. Guerra was killed as he tried to take photographs when Bieber’s car was pulled over by traffic officials. Bieber was, however, not in the vehicle. Lil Twist was revealed as the driver.

TMZ’s sources further claim that a mystery woman kept Bieber company at the hotel. The ‘Boyfriend’ singer allegedly split from his long-time girlfriend Selena Gomez on December 30 following an argument.

The day after the pictures surfaced, Bieber addressed his fans on Twitter. While he didn’t talk about the marijuana incident directly, his tweet hinted at past mistakes being part of the growing process.

“Everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up,” he wrote.

“i see all of u. i hear all of u. i never want to let any of you down. i love u. and..thank u. #beliebers”

Bieber rounded off his tweet with a New Year’s resolution.

“like i challenges. new doubters...Im ready. We are ready. see u all tomorrow and everyday after that. #BELIEVEtour.”
