London - Jennifer Lopez is nervous about baring her soul in her new book.

The singer's first ever autobiography about her life and loves, 'True Love', is out in October and she is worried about making her most intimate thoughts public.

She admitted to People magazine: "What's funny is, I didn't start off the project wanting to bare my soul in print. It started off as a diary of the year I went on tour ... and when I was on the road, it became something else. I really surprised myself, and I realised, 'Oh my God, I'm writing this book.'

"Even to this day, I think, 'Do I put this book out there?' I did a lot of soul searching and praying, because I don't ever want it to be mistaken for anything other than it was, which is sharing something I learned with people I could help."

The 'On The Floor' hitmaker, who became the first ever female recipient of the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, believes her fans might be surprised by some of the confessions in the book, especially regarding the breakdown of her eight-year marriage to Marc Anthony - the father of her six-year-old twins Max and Emme - in 2012.

She explained: "I changed a lot as a person. It was a very transformative moment in my life. I had gone through a lot of changes and then confronting fears of having never toured and being a mom on my own. It was a real shellshock time for me." - BANG Showbiz
