Bruce Willis urged Demi Moore to seek help before she was hospitalised last week.

The 49-year-old star - who split from husband Ashton Kutcher in November amid speculation he had cheated on her - was rumoured to be suffering from anorexia and substance abuse for some time and former spouse Bruce tried to convince her to seek help.

A source told People magazine: "He was worried about her and wanted her to get better. Many of her friends did the same thing, but she just wouldn't listen."

Bruce, 56, and Demi have three daughters together - Rumer, 23, and Tallulah, 18, who are now living with him and Scout, 20, who is enrolled at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island - and insiders say the children, especially Rumer are struggling to cope.

A source said: "It's hard for Ru right now to see her mom in this situation."

It has been claimed that 'Striptease' star Demi has been abusing Adderrall - an amphetamine salts-based medication which is only legal in the US and Canada and which is used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy - before her collapse.

A source said: "Demi has been taking Adderall and drinking energy drinks and starving herself and those are some of the serious causes that led her to collapse.

"The pills and starvation destroyed Demi and this has been a problem for about a year."

Demi's estranged husband Ashton was in Brazil working when the incident happened but he is now back in America and visited her on Monday (30.01.12) after she was released from hospital. - Bang Showbiz
