IOL Chantelle

Alex Reid was "screaming" prior to his arrest yesterday morning.

The cage fighter was placed in police custody after trying to use force to break into the home he shares with fiancee Chantelle Houghton in Brentwood, Essex, South East England and woke up his neighbours with his shouting to be let in.

A man who lives opposite them said: "I could hear a man shouting and when I looked out I saw Alex Reid.

"He was screaming, 'Let me in, f***ing let me in.' Other people living in the street must have woken up because I saw a few lights go on."

Another neighbour was frightened by the commotion, despite being used to the couple - who have 10-week-old baby Dolly together - making a lot of noise.

The anonymous woman said: "I'm used to them making noise late at night but I only usually hear cars coming back and forth and sometimes a bit of loud talking.

"This time I heard banging and lots of shouting. I live on my own so it was quite frightening."

Alex - who was previously married to Katie Price - has since been released without charge from Brentwood Police Station.

The couple have had a strained relationship, and Alex recently confessed he had made a lot of "mistakes" in their time together.

He said: "I'm doing everything in my power to make it work. I've made bad mistakes and choices. I love both of my girls with all my heart, they're my life. It does make me sad because I'm a good guy.

"We were talking about getting married the other day. We were talking about getting another house."
