It would seem that singer-actress Jennifer Lopez, who came across as a real darling as a judge on the last season of American Idol, is not always as sweet as she appears.

Word from the US is that Lopez, 42, has been throwing her weight around on the set of her latest film, and that her co-star, Cameron Diaz, has been infuriated by it.

A report in National Enquirer states that Diaz, 39, laid into Lopez on the Atlanta set of What To Expect When You’re Expecting, in which both are starring alongside a cast that includes Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock and Elizabeth Banks.

The magazine quotes insiders on the film as saying Diaz was a pleasure to work with, while Lopez kept the crew on pins and needles, “making every one’s life miserable”, to quote from the article.

National Enquirer adds that Lopez isolated herself, while Diaz was friendly with everyone, and that Diaz confronted Lopez, telling her to chill out, when the diva rented out an entire beauty shop two doors down from the filming location and made her workers tint all the windows so nobody could see her inside.

“Instead of walking 30 steps from the shop to the set, she would have a huge blacked-out SUV pick her up. Then she would quickly film the scene and go straight back to the SUV,” an insider is quoted as saying.

In other news about diva antics, it would seem the happy rapport between X Factor USA judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, of the Pussycat Dolls, could also be a show for the cameras.

National Enquirer reports, in a separate article, that simmering tension between the two “has exploded into an all-out catfight”.

Quoting an unnamed show source, the magazine adds: “Publicly, Paula and Nicole put on a show of solidarity, but behind the scenes, they’re knifing each other in the back. I don’t know how they’ll get through a season like this!”

It would appear a lot of the friction arises from the age difference between the women, Scherzinger being 12 years Abdul’s junior and reportedly quick to highlight the fact.

National Enquirer adds that both women clearly want to be number one in the eyes of fellow judge and X Factor USA producer Simon Cowell, “and the reality TV mogul knows an intense rivalry between them will spice things up”.

Finally, more gossip about insults… it would seem pint-size and fake-tanned reality TV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, of the hit Jersey Shore, got egg on her face recently when someone she idolises failed to give her the time of day.

National Enquirer reports that 23-year-old Polizzi is very keen to meet her long-time idol, Oscar-winning Titanic star Kate Winslet, whom she points to as her inspiration for her having lost nearly 15kg, since Winslet also lost weight but kept her curvaceous figure.

The magazine reports that the reality star had her agents get in touch with Winslet’s management in an effort to arrange for a meeting, but the request came to naught as Winslet admitted to having never heard of the Jersey Shore star.
