London - Gisele Bundchen is to hand out the Fifa World Cup 2014 trophy.

The 33-year-old model has been chosen to stand in for Brazil's president Dilma Rousseff, who has been the target of abuse due to the huge expense incurred from hosting the tournament, to present the golden prize to the winning team at the official closing ceremony on July 13, according to the Boston Globe newspaper.

The Brazilian beauty will reportedly be joined by her husband Tom Brady - with whom she has five-year-old son Benjamin and two-year-old daughter Vivian - at the event, which will take place at the Maracana Mário Filho Stadium in Rio de Janeiro and feature performances from Avicii, Carlos Santana and Wyclef.

Gisele, who was born in Três de Maio, divides her time between Boston, New York and Los Angeles, where she and Tom have just sold their eco-friendly mansion for a reported $40 million.
