Michael Jackson was almost blind and bald, he ‘took hours’ to urinate, had arthritis and a flesh-eating fungal disease and could not function without a cocktail of drugs.

When his doctor, Conrad Murray, was found guilty, his family said: ‘Michael has been looking over us.’

Yes, but who was looking over Michael? How could any member of his family - they were present in court each day but clearly nowhere to be seen when he needed them - not have seen the pitiful state he was in and done something about it?

Two days after the verdict, three of Michael’s brothers and his son Prince were signing 1,000 replicas of the jacket he wore on the video of his hit single Thriller so they could be flogged at £1,500 each - a cool £1.5 million for an afternoon’s work.

His family lost sight of his suffering, but never failed to spot when he could make millions for them. - Daily Mail
