London - Reese Witherspoon has slashed the price of her luxurious rural retreat in Ojai, California.
The actress has dropped the asking price for the seven-acre ranch for the second time to $7.25-million after originally putting it on the market for $10-million in October.
She reduced the price to $8.9-million in November but was recently forced to lower it again after failing to attract a buyer, according to real estate site Redfin.com.
Reese surprised friends after placing the property on the market just months after she showed it off in a photo shoot for an interiors magazine.
She gushed about her love of the nine-bedroom property, which also boasts three guest cottages, an organic garden, horse stables and mini-petting zoo, at the time, saying: “When you buy a beautiful piece of art, you don't really own it. You're just the caretaker.
“It reminds me of growing up in Tennessee, where we spent all day outside. I wanted my children to have that experience, to get muddy and hang out with the animals.
“It is meditative and restorative. As soon as I drive through the gate, I relax. The air is fresh, the phone isn't ringing, you can't access email.”
The actress also hosted her wedding at the stunning ranch-style property in March last year and allowed her Water For Elephants co-star Robert Pattinson to hide out there following his relationship troubles with Kristen Stewart after her fling with Rupert Sanders was exposed last August. - Bang Showbiz
