Actor Tyrone Keogh has been voted the country’s sexiest male celebrity according to South Africa’s gay community.

Keogh, best known for his role in the local TV series The Wild, was announced the winner of the ClarinsMEN Mambaonline Sexiest Male Celeb Survey of 2012 at a function at Eden in Rivonia last night.

The 29-year-old actor beat some of the best known South African celebs to clinch the title of Sexiest Male of 2012.

His competitors included the likes of Olympic-winning swimmer Chad le Clos, Hip Hop star and Sama-winner AKA, new Top Billing presenter Jonathan Boyton-Lee, TV star Lehasa Moloi, Lee-Roy Wright from 94.7, actor Armand Aucamp, Proteas batsman Faf du Plessis, and model and reality TV star Gregg Hammond.

The competition was run by, South Africa’s largest gay lifestyle portal.

Keogh received the most votes from Mambaonline users.

Keogh said he was overjoyed at being chosen as this year’s sexiest male celeb.

“It’s an honour. It’s common knowledge that the gay community has great taste,” said Keogh.

Having posed nude on several occasions, Keogh said he would be more than happy to do it again if given the opportunity.

“I’ve always been comfortable with my body, so it’s never been an issue.”

“My confidence comes from who I am, not what I look like. I’m not too concerned about the superficial stuff.”
