Johannesburg - Several roads in central Johannesburg have been closed for the filming of the sequel to the superhero movie “The Avengers”, Johannesburg metro police said on Monday.

“About four or five streets have been affected,” said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.

“Roads will remain closed until 11pm tomorrow.”

These include Rissik, Commissioner, Pritchard, Albertina Sisulu and Joubert streets.

“Motorists are advised not to use these roads, or the Rissik street onramp and offramp, to avoid traffic congestion.”

Marshall and Anderson streets were alternative routes.

Filming began on Monday at 7am.

The sequel, titled “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, will feature celebrities Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth as superheroes. - Sapa
