Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been serving time in the Yerawada prison, has been granted a two-week leave of absence.

Dutt is reportedly said to be experiencing pain because of blood clots in his legs. He also has high blood pressure.

Prison authorities have confirmed that this is not parole as the divisional comissioner is out of the country.

Dutt is serving a 42-month sentence for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts. Pictures have been seen of the 54-year-old actor rehearsing for a play in jail.

He was reportedly going to be performing to raise funds for the prison. But the authorities have cancelled the play because of security and other concerns.

Dutt, who was convicted of possessing illegal arms during the 1993 Mumbai blasts, previously applied for a 30-day period of parole but this was rejected. – Oneindia.in
