Vadacurry is the latest Tamil movie to be released in South Africa, exclusively by NuMetro Cinemas. OneIndia.in reporters discuss the film.
Vadacurry is a Tamil comedy-thriller written and directed by debutant Saravana Rajan, a former associate of Venkat Prabhu.
The film stars Jai and Swathi Reddy in the lead and is produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri’s Meeka Entertainment.
Medical representative Sathish (Jai) is constantly insulted by his friends for not having a lavish cellphone.
Jai ends up seeing an iPhone in a tea shop and steals it. His life changes and his colleagues start to respect him.
Some time later, however, his guilt causes him to have a change of heart and he decides to replace it, but the problems and struggles he comes across in giving the phone back are tremendous.
He and his friend, played by RJ Balaji, land themselves in hot water when they are kidnapped after it is established that the iPhone actually belongs to a criminal.
Sathish now has to prove who he is and ensure the safe return of his friend, who has been kept as hostage by the villains in a case of mistaken identity.
What happens next should be enjoyed on-screen.
The film has cinematography by Venkatesh, who had earlier assisted Velraj, and the technical crew includes editing by Praveen KL and NB Srikanth and art direction by Ramalingam, while the costumes were designed by Anusha Dayanidhi.

The Bollywood actress dances with Jai, the hero, in a special appearance in the movie with an item dance number that was shot in Goa.
Vadacurry is an exclusive NuMetro release and will be screened only at NuMetro Cinemas at the Galleria and The Pavilion malls and in Johannesburg at The Emperors Palace.
The movie has been released by world-famous producer-director Prabhu Nepal (pictured right), who also happens to be the talented son of South Africa’s Amma of Indian cultural song and dance, Kumari Ambigay.
Vadacurry forms part of a drive by NuMetro, under the helm of Anu Magardie (who heads NuMetro’s Bollywood department), to regularly release Tamil films in the country.
Anu has also introduced a unique feature for NuMetro Cinemas – the launch of “Opening Nights”, an exclusive red carpet event on the opening night of a film, at which the audience gets to mingle with celebrities and VVIP guests, receive goodie bags, autographs and delicious Indian food.
Yuvan Shankar Raja composed some of the songs in the movie and famous singers such as Andreya Jeremiah, Siddharth Mahadevan (Shankar Mahadevan’s son), Anirudh (music director of Why this Kolaveri Di), to name a few, have sung some of the super hit songs in the movie. – oneindia.in
