Just what the doctor ordered can kill you.
This is the fate of Martin Taylor (played by Channing Tatum). Martin is a stockbroker who is married to Emily (Rooney Mara), a graphic designer. Their picket fence-perfect life is interrupted when Martin is taken to prison for insider trading.
Emily spirals into depression and starts seeing Dr Jonathan Banks (Jude Law), a psychiatrist, about her depression. Emily persuades Dr Banks to prescribe a particular antidepressant. Before we hit the halfway mark of the movie, Emily puts a knife through Martin’s back while she is sleepwalking – a side effect of the antidepressant. But was it really all the tiny pill’s fault?
This psycho-thriller is mildly interesting in parts but can be super tedious to watch as Banks tries to get to the bottom of things. However, Catherine Zeta-Jones puts on an enigmatic performance as Dr Victoria Siebert, Emily’s previous psychiatrist.
