Kamal Haasan has fond memories of his bond with prolific film-maker Balu Mahendra, who recently died in Chennai.

The actor said it had been tough to question the creative choices of the director, who made Sadma. “Balu Mahendra and I shared a very close relationship.

His debut film as a cameraman was with me. We used to sit and talk about films between shots.

He used to listen to my scripts. So we bonded. In spite of being my senior, he was a friend,” Haasan said.

The renowned film-maker, who inspired audiences with his visually uplifting films for more than three decades, died of a heart attack. He was 74. – Oneindia.in
