Orlando Bloom isn't going to see his wife Miranda Kerr on Valentine's Day.

The actor is currently filming 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' in New Zealand and says it is a tragedy he won't be able to spend the romantic day tomorrow (14.02.12) with the Victoria's Secret model and their 13-month-old son Flynn.

Orlando joked: "It's a tragedy. Miranda was like, 'Oh, you're not going to be here ... do I still get those earrings?' "

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star also revealed he is very proud of how quickly Miranda has been able to spring back into her catwalk career after giving birth.

In an interview on Australian Radio station 2Day FM on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, he said: "I was very proud of her, to have just had a baby and get back up, because I don't think it's easy for those girls, they make it look easy, it's a lot of work to look good and to have the confidence to strut your stuff, and there's always the people wanting to have a dig at you that's the price you pay for being in the public eye."

Orlando, 35, also said he and Miranda, 28, are determined to be hands on parents and don't want to rely on nannies and extra help, despite their hectic careers.

He said: "There are times where it's not possible so we have to have some help but where possible I try to make a point of doing it myself.

"He's a baby, I hate to not see him walking and crawling and doing all those things, I just like hanging out with him, you could easily miss it, it's the nature of our lives, time loses its perspective. I don't want that to be the case with Flynn, I want to have that connection and feel that bond." - Bang Showbiz
