Snow White and the Huntsman

****

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fiercest of all them?

FILM: Without a doubt, Charlize Theron. You don’t have to be a fan of the blonde Benoni bombshell to recognise that she is a film force to be reckoned with.

The Oscar winner plays the Evil Queen in a re-imagining of the famous fairy tale. Kristen Stewart and her expressionless face play Snow White, a princess, on the run from the clutches of the queen who killed her father.

Chris Hemsworth– whom you may recognise as Thor – swaps his hammer for an axe as he plays the Huntsman.

As fairy tales go, there will be a clash between good and evil and tagging along for the ride are the dwarfs who are a bunch of colourful characters.

The story is interesting and the gorgeous cinematography is like Game Of Thrones’ twists and plots meets 300’s CGI. But much, much better.

Theron gives us a snake-like fluidity as she slithers into something poisonous in one moment and a deeply traumatised victim in another.

Bonus: The low-down on the dwarfss and audio commentary.
