THE International award-winning singing sensation Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, with his talented ensemble of musicians, will grace the stages of Durban and Joburg soon when Blu Blood entertainment proudly presents The Voice from Heaven Tour in highly anticipated one-off performances in each city on February 15 and 16.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will mesmerise audiences with his Qawwalis (a form of Sufi devotional music), Bollywood chart-topping hits and an array of brand new songs from his new album soon to be launched in South Africa.

The voice of Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a sound sensation that has captivated people all over the globe. Born into a family of Qawwali and classical singers who have a musical legacy that spans 600 years, Rahat was groomed from the age of 15 by his uncle and mentor, the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Rahat debuted as a playback singer in the 2003 Bollywood movie Paap, featuring the hit song Mann Ki Lagan.

His recent works include Pakistani national songs such as Dharti Dharti and Hum Pakistan, and many all-time favourites from Bollywood, such as Allah Jaane, O Re Piya, Surili Akhiyon Wale, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Teri Meri, Tera Deedar Hua, and Mere Bina Tu.

His consistent creations in Pakistan have resulted in hit after hit in Bollywood and success in Hollywood, and numerous awards.

Some of the films in which his songs are featured include Bodyguard, My Name is Khan, Ishqiya, Dabanng, Anjana Anjani and many more.

Rahat has also performed and collaborated with many top names in the music and film industries, such as Mel Gibson for Apocalypto, The Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam, Rival Schools, the B-52s, Bono, Mos Def, and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

His distinctive high-pitched voice effortlessly embraces the elevating aesthetic of Qawwali.

He debuted in America in 2000 with two high-profile perform-ances at Central Park and at the Hollywood Bowl, to critical acclaim.

He has also performed several times at London’s Wembley Arena.

Rahat has toured globally and has performed to capacity audiences of thousands in top venues and arenas and has left audiences enthralled.

The Voice from Heaven Tour is an experience of a lifetime and to see Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan live in concert makes for a thrilling experience.

Performances take place at The International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban at 8pm on Saturday, February 15, and at Emperors Palace, Joburg, at 5pm on Sunday, February 16.
