GIG OF THE WEEK
Jack Mantis Band
Blue Stockings (tonight)
ADDING some rock and roll to this weekend is The Jack Mantis Band, who come all the way from the Mother City and will be gracing Durban with their presence tonight at Bluestockings in Kloof.
Peace, love and politics: these are some of things you’ll find in the music of The Jack Mantis Band.
These gypsy rockers will make love to your ears while taking you on a caravan of musical bliss.
The music is their heartsong, and Jack’s voice their portal.
The lyrics speak of honesty |and truth, reaching into internal passion, and manifesting in a range of compositions, each |taking the listener on a journey that is best experienced in their live performances.
Jack’s unique finger-style guitar work and his booming voice are perfectly complemented by Domenico Benigno’s keyboard, accordion and harmonica mastery.
Their sound is brought together by the world-class skills of Emile Hoogenhout’s drum work.
This band has been hailed as one of South Africa’s most diverse and crowd inspiring acts on the live circuit.
• Catch the Jack Mantis Band tonight at Bluestockings, Dan Pienaar Road, Kloof.
Doors open at 7.30pm. Book with Narene by calling 083 659 3628 and enquire about dinner. – Tonight Reporter
