AROUND this time of the year, the biggest dilemma we probably face is which party to attend. It seems a bit trivial, but for the most part, it’s true.

With top-notch entertainment happening daily, it can be a bit tricky choosing the best event to attend.

One thing is for sure though, if you are into electronic music and keen fora rocking party that will keep you dancing till your feet ache, then The Electronic Dance Music Festival (EDM Fest) is for you.

Featuring one of the coolest electronic music producers and DJs of our time, Gareth Emery performs in Durban, Joburg and Cape Town by turn this weekend.

He is known as the highest-ranked British DJ in DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 poll, peaking at Number 7 in 2010, so audiences are definitely in for a treat this long weekend.

Also on the bill for the night is another British DJ and record producer Lange, as well as brilliant local acts featuring 5FM’s DJ Fresh, electro house production/DJ duo Pascal and Pearce, Dino Bravo, ECR’s DJ Deon, Royal K and more.

Tonight chatted to one of the organisers of the EDM fest, Lee Govender of Love-Tec Entertainment, to get the lowdown on the event and his expectations for the fest.

“The event not only features an all-star line-up, but includes a ‘never been seen before’ technical production. The final result will certainly wow Durban. We are to feature a Durban first, a 3D stage,” Govender said.

“Teaming this idea with our technical company, we are sure you will leave the show feeling you’ve experienced something you will never forget. Durban will set the benchmark for all other events.”

• The EDM Fest: Friday at the Wavehouse, Gateway, Saturday at the Nasrec Arena, Sunday at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Tickets are available at Computicket.
