GIG OF THE WEEK

Joyous Celebration

Grace Bible Church (tonight, tomorrow and Sunday)

If you are a Joyous Celebration fan then you

know what time it is. It is December and the multiple award-winning gospel group are back for the recording of their new CD and DVD at the Grace Bible Church in Soweto, Pimville, this weekend.

For first time the fans of MTN Joyous Celebration will be exposed to the material from their upcoming album, live on SABC 1 (the Sunday show).

With 2014 having been a great year for MTN Joyous Celebration, given the success of their One Purpose tour and that they will be performing in Soweto for the first time, the choir is expected to draw record numbers to the recording of their 19th album.

“From our rehearsals I can safely say that our fans should prepare to be blessed, not only with a fresh, different sound, but it will take them back to the very first time they fell in love with gospel music and the MTN Joyous Celebration brand” said Lindelani Mkhize, co-founder and conductor of the ensemble.

The choir is one of South Africa’s success stories in music with more than

2.8 million albums sold since Joyous 1. They have also won several awards including 10 South African Music Awards.

Tickets are selling out fast, with prices starting at R150 at Computicket. – Munya Vomo
