GIG OF THE WEEK

Sedibeng restaurant

Soweto (Sunday)

Okay, January and its financial handicaps have left the building so you have no excuse to not be out there having a good time. If you agree, yet do not know where to go, let me suggest the Hunters Oasis Tour which will see a number of artists converge to get you into the fast lane for 2013.

The biggest name on the line-up is South Africa’s current golden boy, Donald, famous for the hit I Deserve. With a whopping six Metro Music Award nominations to his name, it is obvious the young house singer and his ego have done something right. He may come across as too arrogant at times, but he has the talent to back it up.

A flashy dresser, it is obvious Donald has a good relationship with his designer who creates the perfect fitted outfits that usually come sleeveless to show off some of the benefits of that Virgin Active membership. Everyone else may get the crowd excited on the day of the event, but there is no doubt that Donald will be the highlight.

The other acts to expect are DJs Kent, Raiko, Vigilante and Twins on Deck. It is obviously a house-head gig, but we are not saying there won’t be any hip hop or kwaito on the deckmasters’ playlists.

With the event only starting at 2pm, there will be ample time for you to go to church or do your laundry beforehand. And because the show opens in the afternoon you can leave at sunset if you are worried about being sharp for work on Monday.

It will cost you R100 to get in and Sedibeng Restaurant is at 3166 Shikhova Street, Meadowlands, Soweto.

Five people could win double tickets to this event by answering this: Name any DJs who will play at the event. Send your answer and contact details to [email protected] by midnight today. All winners will be contacted via e-mail.
