With pay day not that far away, fans are well advised not to forget their tickets to the ultimate ’80s music festival that is set to hit Durban next week.

The cherry on top is in supporting the fest, you will be helping a long-standing local charity in the city that cares for abandoned babies.

Rewind – The ’80s Festival is set to hit South African shores with the hottest line-up of pop legends from the most decadent decade in music.

It is within the tradition of the international brand Rewind, and the affiliated artists support a charity in the country of their scheduled tour.

This year sees the brand proudly standing behind Shepherd’s Keep, a haven for abandoned babies in Durban.

The charity was founded by Colin Pratley, founder of the local worship pop group Freedoms Children, which went on to have massive success across the world with their albums Battle Hymn of the Broken-Hearted Horde and Astra.

Rewind international has raised over R200 000 to date in support of Shepherds Keep.

The festival is raising further funds through an SMS competition that gives away two electric guitars, signed by 10 of the touring artists.

Pratley has created the perfect home for the abandoned children of the KZN area and all proceeds will go towards helping him and his wife, Cheryl, in their mission.

Rewind – The ’80s Festival takes place at Durban’s Kings Park Stadium on the February 25, boasting the biggest outdoor line-up of ’80s recording artists and performers ever seen on one stage in South Africa.

Lovers of ’80s music will be treated to the ultimate party as the city of Durban hosts one of the biggest festivals yet, attracting fans from across the country to witness this once-off extravaganza.

Many of those attending the festival dress up in in ’80s gear.

South Africans are urged to join in the spirit of the occasion and dig out their best nostalgic outfits. There are prizes up for grabs for the best dressed.
