AMERICAN recording star R Kelly has postponed his Single Ladies Tour of South Africa which was to have been held from March 21 to 23 and will now take place from August 8 to 10.

“Kelly is a true performer and to put on the best possible show for his South African fans, the local promoter, Afropulse, has decided they need more time to pull together all the local logistics elements needed,” a spokesman said.

“The new dates fall within the holiday, the Women’s Day weekend, which also resonates with the tour title, Single Ladies Tour.”

Vuyokazi Mhlophe, of Gagasi FM, a sponsor for the KwaZulu-Natal leg of the tour, said Kelly wanted more preparation time.

Tweets from some Kelly’s fans expressed their delight at the postponement: @CathyCufi wrote: “So @SneJoy77 tells me the R Kelly concert’s being postponed! U know I’m so glad they waiting 4 some of us 2 afford them.”
