COMMEMORATING the wonderful women of the world, the next few days will see celebrations of a vibrant Women’s Day event entitled That’s What She Said which kicks off in Cape Town, then moves to Durban and ends with a bang in Joburg.

Hosted by Younique Concepts, After Hours, Lovoka, Le Grand Saint and Tudortech, this event will feature an electrifying line-up of female talent. Headlining will be international DJ Sarah Main from Pacha, Ibiza.

Some of SA’s hottest DJ talent will accompany Main: Vanessa Holliday, Kirsti Hugo, Lady Lea, Tashy, Funky B, Trixy T, Tahlia, Emma X, Shylo and Nicole Weitsz.

Tonight caught up with Holliday (who, besides DJi-ng, is also the organiser of the event) to get the lowdown on what to expect: “It will be an explosion of the senses, bringing a little touch of Ibiza to SA’s shores, focusing on top quality production, beautiful music, the finest of female talent, all located at the best venues around SA.

“The main purpose of the event is to showcase the best of local and international female talent as well as celebrating Women’s Day.”

Unable to contain her excitement about sharing the stage with Main, Holliday said: “I am truly honoured to play alongside such a talented artist who has been in the music industry for 17 years.

“She has achieved so much in her music career; not only is she a DJ, but a producer, she hosts her own radio show and is resident at the legendary club in Ibiza called Pacha.”

• The Women’s Day event featuring Sarah Main kicks off in Cape Town on Friday at the Grand Beach Cáfe, in Durban at Origin Nightclub on Saturday and in Joburg at Nicci Beach on Sunday. Book through www.webtickets.co.za
