Brits lead International Emmy nods

NEW YORK -

Britain has picked up a leading six International Emmy nominations, including best actor and actress nods for Stephen Dillane and Olivia Colman.

Dillane, best known for his role as Stannis Baratheon in “Game of Thrones,” is nominated for portraying an aging British police detective investigating a politically motivated serial killer in the British-French crime drama “The Tunnel.”

‘The Tunnel’, as a French entry, is among the nominees for best drama series.

Colman is being recognised for her role as a detective investigating a young boy's murder in the crime drama ‘Broadchurch’.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced on Monday a total of 40 nominees from 19 countries who will be competing in 10 categories for International Emmys. Brazil had five nominations. - Sapa-AP
