A MAN was found dead on Sunday in the swimming pool at Demi Moore’s Hollywood mansion.

The 21-year-old victim, who has not been named, is thought to have drowned after attending a party at the £5 million (R96.91m) house on Saturday night.

His body was discovered at 5.20am at the bottom of the pool.

Miss Moore, 52, had not been at home but police said her assistant had been at the house at the time and was also the host of the party, according to gossip website TMZ.

A neighbour claimed Miss Moore’s three grown-up daughters from her marriage to Hollywood star Bruce Willis have been staying at the property for weeks and throwing parties ‘every day and night’.

They said there were often late-night pool parties at the house in Beverly Hills, which Miss Moore, the star of Ghost and Indecent Proposal, once shared with her third husband Ashton Kutcher.

Two weeks ago, Tallulah Willis posted pictures online of more than a dozen people playing in the pool late at night.

She included the caption: "This picture doesn’t do justice to the glory that was our pool party."

On Sunday night it was reported that there had been a party at the house on Saturday night but none of Miss Moore’s family were present. It is not yet known who hosted the party.

The victim is not a family member but knew someone with access to the pool. Other reports quote a police source as saying the man was a staff member.

One source claimed the deceased did not know how to swim and it appears that he slipped and fell into the water.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said police officers arrived to find a small group gathered around the man’s body.

He told NBC Southern California that five people were at the house at the time of the drowning, including one who works as an assistant to Miss Moore.

A member of the local coroner’s office was sent at 6.55am to examine the body but police had not named the dead man on Sunday night. Officials said he had accidentally drowned.

Miss Moore’s daughter, Scout Willis, celebrates her 24th birthday today and her younger sister, Tallulah, 21, had been documenting the celebrations on social media throughout the weekend. But the sisters appeared to be in New York, where Scout has a home. Their eldest sister, Rumer, was seen at Los Angeles airport on Friday after spending much of the summer touring with a stage spin-off of the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars.

Tallulah was treated in a clinic for 45 days last years for health problems including an eating disorder. She has spoken publicly about smoking marijuana and struggling with depression.

Last month she celebrated a year of sobriety. Miss Moore made her name starring in films such as Blame It on Rio in 1984 and St Elmo’s fire in 1985. She split from second husband Bruce Willis in 2000. She was previously married to singer Freddy Moore.

After divorcing Willis, Miss Moore began dating actor Ashton Kutcher, 15 years her junior. They married in 2005 and divorced two years ago.

Her home is on a street of exclusive properties tucked behind The Beverly Hills Hotel. She bought the property in 2003 and it is now said to be worth almost £5 million.

Neighbours include actors Jon Voight, Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum.

The living area of the home has large glass doors which open out onto the garden and pool area.

Rumer is set to make her debut on Broadway in August – two months before her father Bruce makes his.

Producers of the long-running musical Chicago said last Thursday that Rumer will star as Roxie Hart. Bruce Willis will be appearing in Misery on Broadway from October.
