Leonardo DiCaprio has been named one of the world's top art collectors.
The 'Wolf of Wall Street' star has won a place on ARTnews' annual 200 list, thanks to his collections of contemporary art, comics, rare books and fossils.
The magazine said: “One of his first major purchases was a Basquiat drawing.”
Though the 40-year-old actor doesn't often speak publicly about his art collection, his purchases are believed to include works by Picasso, Takashi Murakami, Ed Ruscha, Andreas Gursky, Sarah Lucas and Elizabeth Payton.
He is a regular fixture at Art Basel in both Switzerland and Miami, and previously co-chaired the annual Art + Film Gala at the LA County Museum of Art.
While he is a renowned collector, there is one piece which Leonardo has missed out on; the 67-million-year-old skull of a Tyrannosaurus bataar, which fetched $270,000 at auction in 2007.
He had been poised to scoop the piece, but was beaten at the last minute by fellow actor Nicolas Cage, who big the staggering sum via a telephone bid.
The 'Great Gatsby' star previously admitted buying fossils was the fulfillment of a childhood fantasy.
He explained: “As a kid, I was constantly at the natural-history museum, so when I grew up I wanted to fulfill my childhood fantasies and have some pieces in my house.
“I have a few predatory dinosaurs.”
