So much for turning the other cheek.

According to the Daily Mail, the wife of Rory Alec, the co-founder of the popular GOD TV channel, took to the airwaves to tell viewers that he had left her for the divorcee daughter of a farmer in South africa.

Wendy Alec, who was born in Britain, but grew up in Durban, claims her husband no longer wishes to be a part of the channel. According to her on-air confession, her husband had been having an affair because “the devil got in very, very easily”.

Wendy claims the problems started in March this year, when Rory returned from a trip to South Africa.

“My whole world started turning upside down and the next morning he just went,” she said in the broadcast.

“It started to be extremely traumatic for me because suddenly my husband just started to change in a pattern and a way I had never seen him act before.”

Wendy further alleges that she and the GOD TV board suggested that Rory go for counselling after she discovered he had been having an affair in August.

According to her, the other woman claimed to have heard a voice from God saying that Rory was her Mr Right and her future husband.

“Rory is on this lady's father's farm in South Africa,” said Wendy.

“He doesn't want to be involved in the ministry anymore and as far as he's concerned, the marriage is finished.

“He doesn't want restoration, he doesn't want counselling, he doesn't want anything to do with it.

“He wants a new life.

“It is traumatic because it's like your life is over, all our memories.”

Last week, Rory himself addressed the GOD TV fans, telling them of his decision to end his relationship with the channel.

“After 20 years of service, I have had a moral failure this year,” he said.

“For this reason, I am stepping down. Please forgive me for the disappointment I've caused, but I know your eyes are on Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith and not on me, an imperfect man.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm my season with GOD TV is over for now.”

GOD TV is broadcasted in over 60 countires and is popular in the US, particularly since US-based evangelists are a regular feature on the show. Last year, they broadcasted a show in a bizarre attempt to exorcise the demons from President Barack Obama and free him from “Jezebel’s clutches”.

Wendy and Rory met on the cabaret circuit in South Africa. She had become a devout Christian after seeing an image of Jesus in the mirror of a nightclub bathroom.

The pair left the country for Europe to start GOD TV after allegedly hearing a prophecy that they should do so. The channel became popular with US evangelists, who would pay to feature on the channel which now boasts an audience reach of about 900-million people.  -  Tonight Reporter
