Kelly Osbourne has "the cancer gene" and plans to have preventative surgery.

The 30-year-old star, whose mother Sharon was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2002, made the revelation on 'The Talk' as the hosts discussed Angelina Jolie's announcement that she has had her ovaries removed to prevent the onset of cancer.

During the conversation, Kelly shared: "I actually do have the cancer gene."

She went on to reveal that the decision to get tested was prompted by her mother, who successfully fought the disease after undergoing two surgeries.

Kelly explained: "My mom made all of us get tested after she found out that she had it and got her double mastectomy.

"I agree with this 100 percent. I know that one day I will eventually have to do it too because if I have children, I want to be there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I can.

"It's something I applaud Angelina for because she's bringing attention to this, and people are now going to go out and get tested for it."

Earlier this week, Angelina revealed her decision to have both her ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed after tests raised concerns she was in the early stages of cancer.
