Paltrow’s conscious uncoupling, not divorceComment on this story
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have had an extremely amicable end to their marriage, which Paltrow described as ‘conscious uncoupling’, not divorce.
On her website Goop.com, Paltrow posted an article by Dr. Habib Sadeghi & Dr. Sherry Sami explaining conscious uncoupling, which they say requires “the ability to understand that every irritation and argument was a signal to look inside ourselves and identify a negative internal object that needed healing”. Taking this approach means “there are no bad guys” in a relationship that has gone sour.
“When we understand that both are actually partners in each other’s spiritual progress, animosity dissolves much quicker and a new paradigm for conscious uncoupling emerges, replacing the traditional, contentious divorce. It’s only under these circumstances that loving co-parenting can happen,” the piece goes on to explain.
Martin is said to have bought Paltrow a painting as a parting present to mark the "new stage" in their lives.
A source told the Mail Online website: "Chris has even given Gwyneth a present to mark this new stage, a painting of a bird in flight by Mila Fürstová. It's beautiful."
Mila Fürstová who has created the artwork for Coldplay’s sixth studio album 'Ghost Stories'.
News of the pair ending their 10-year marriage came while they were on vacation on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, reports LaineyGossip, and they are hoping to "enjoy being friends" and want Apple and Moses to know that they're still a family.
The source added: "Going away together may seem unusual but that's Gwyneth and Chris.
"Foremost they want the kids to see they mean business about remaining a family, and another ... they want to miss the fallout.
"It might sound like a line that they're happier than they've ever been but the relief is massive, they can enjoy being friends again now.
"It's like all the tensions have finally dispersed, the stress of arguing where about where to live. She missed Los Angeles and he's an English boy through and through so that seemed like an eternal battle.
"They're communicating again, they're having a glass of wine together and a laugh and were actually looking forward to the holiday."
