Los Angeles - R&B singer Miguel has been arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of drunken driving.
A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol says the 27-year-old “Adorn” crooner was pulled over in his BMW X6 just after 2am on Thursday for speeding and driving with tinted windows.
She says officers administered field sobriety tests, and a preliminary test measured his blood alcohol level at 0.10 percent. The state's legal limit is 0.08 percent.
Miguel won the Grammy for best R&B song earlier this year for “Adorn.” He also duets with Mariah Carey on her single “#Beautiful.”
A spokesperson for the singer, whose full name is Miguel Jontel Pimentel, did not immediately provide comment about his arrest.
The 27-year-old singer – whose real name is Miguel Jontel Pimentel – was released on $5,000 bail and is set to appear in court at the end of September.
Miguel last hit the headlines in June when he accidentally kicked a fan during his performance at the Billboard Music Awards.
The singer-songwriter leaped from one stage to another while singing 'Adorn' and caught his leg on the back of Khyati Shah's head, slamming it into the platform.
While it had been claimed Miguel was warned the jump was too dangerous to attempt, his spokesperson denied this. - Sapa-AP and Bang Showbiz
