Talk about Hollyweird. Willow and Jaden Smith appear to inhabit a different universe altogether, one in which school is pointless, babies remember being born and time can be controlled – even though it apparently doesn’t exist.

In an interview with T Magazine that will have readers scratching their heads, the teenage children of actors Will and Jada Smith talk about depression, Prana energy and the off-the-wall themes they inject into their music.

Willow (14) reveals that she is currently reading about quantum physics, while Jaden claims he has glossed over an “ancient text called The Ancient Secret of the Flower Life [that] can’t be pre-dated”.

Having read such lofty tomes, one would assume that the Smiths are a studious bunch, but that illusion is soon shattered.

“I went to school for one year,” says Whip My Hair singer Willow. “It was the best experience but the worst experience. The best experience because I was, like, 'Oh, now I know why kids are so depressed.' But it was the worst experience because I was depressed.”

Jaden concurs, claiming his sister would never had learned anything from school in the first place.

“You never learn anything in school. Think about how many car accidents happen every day. Driver's ed? What's up? I still haven't been to driver's ed because if everybody I know has been in an accident, I can't see how driver's ed is really helping them out,” he said.

“Here's the deal: School is not authentic because it ends. It's not true, it's not real. Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to.”

Another thing that isn’t real, according to Willow, is time – although she claims she can also control it with her mind.

“I mean, time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please,” she said. “That’s how I know it doesn't exist.”

With her power over time, Willow can travel back to the period where she was happiest – as a newborn baby.

“When they’re in the stomach, (babies are) so aware, putting all their bones together, putting all their ligaments together. But they’re shocked by this harsh world … As they grow up, they start losing.”

Is this interview a cry for attention? Perhaps, the Smith siblings, however, claim that the more shocking they are, the better it is for our society.

“The only way to change something is to shock it,” says Jaden.

“If you want your muscles to grow, you have to shock them. If you want society to change, you have to shock them.”

Willow added: “That’s what art is, shocking people. Sometimes shocking yourself.” - Tonight Reporter and BANG Showbiz
