Comedian and actress Celeste Ntuli returns to the stand-up stage to give you the sequel to her first ever one woman show Home Affairs.

The comedian, who’s also had a role on popular telenovela Isibaya since the show's inception, is multi-talented as both an actress and comic. She plays an elderly Zulu woman that is years ahead of Ntuli in real life but when Ntuli gets on stage to do her shows, we get a fresher and younger side to her that is immensely hilarious.

The first Home Affairs show was an insight into various social subjects that Ntuli found interesting. She is the type of person who says what we are all thinking but never get a chance to say. She also switches accents which is always hilarious.

Granted, as a first attempt at solo comedy, Home Affairs 1 had some elements missing and Ntuli admits that the next one is going to be a much tighter performance.

There are two shows to be held at Gold Reef City's Lyric Theatre tomorrow at 5pm and 8.30pm.

We caught up with Ntuli and this is what she said about what we can expect.

How well did Home Affairs 1 do?

Home Affairs 1 was unbelievable as it was my first big one woman show in Johannesburg. The response I got from the audience was overwhelming.

Why was it important to do a sequel?

I felt it was important to do the sequel because I had a lot to polish on and I had a lot of people requesting that I do the second one. It was popular demand really.

What areas will you be touching on this time?

I will be concentrating more on social commentary as I always do but I will have a bit more political material than usual.

You are one of the few women in comedy, how has that journey been for you?

My journey has been nothing but great. I have never felt any difference because of being woman.

How hard/easy is it to balance acting and stand up?

Stand up comedy is similar to monologue. There is not much difference.

Tickets for Home Affairs are on sale now at Computicket and the Lyric Theatre Box Office, priced from R165.00 (R150.00 for early bird, group bookings, pensioners and students).

Home Affairs is produced by John Vlismas and Taffia Keight of Whacked Comedy on behalf of Celeste Ntuli.
