Durban - The wife of a Durban traditional healer was this week forced to watch helplessly as her husband rode off in his car with controversial musician Kelly Khumalo at midnight.
Jabu, who is married to flamboyant healer and Maskandi musician Zamokwakhe “Bhaka” Nzama, was left standing at their home as Khumalo and Nzama drove off in his red Audi A5.
The pair sat at the back while Khumalo’s sister, Zandi, sat in front with Nzama’s driver. Khumalo’s latest hit song Asine was blasting from the car speakers when they drove off on Thursday night from Nzama’s Malvern home. The wealthy healer had thrown a birthday party for Zandi.
According to people at the party, the pair wore matching white outfits. Khumalo arrived in a short white dress and a long coat, while Nzama wore a black and white blazer and white shoes.
Although Zandi sat in between the pair, guests at the party said the two spoke to each other throughout the night, while Nzama’s wife watched.
Jabu did nothing as her husband left with the Khumalo sisters.
Isolezwe, The Independent on Saturday’s sister newspaper, has reliably learnt that Nzama booked the Khumalo sisters into the Hilton Hotel when they arrived from Joburg. He also spent the night at the same hotel.
This comes a few days after a cosy picture of Khumalo and Nzama relaxing at the Saxon Boutique Hotel and Spa in Sandton, Joburg, was posted on a social network site.
The picture infuriated Nzama’s fans, urging him to stay away from the “troubled” star, saying he would have the same fate as Khumalo’s previous lovers.
Khumalo made international headlines in October when her footballer boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa, the Bafana Bafana and Pirates captain, was gunned down in an apparent botched robbery at Khumalo’s mother’s home in Vosloorus.
Meyiwa, the father of Khumalo’s youngest child, was married under traditional rites to Mandisa Khumalo.
Khumalo’s previous boyfriend and the father of her eldest child, rapper Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, is serving a 10-year jail term after he and Themba Shabalala were found guilty on four counts of murder, two of attempted murder and one of driving while under the influence of drugs after a drag race in Soweto killed four pupils in 2010 and left two others brain damaged.
Her other boyfriend, music promoter and businessman Prosper Mkwaiwa, was last year involved in a car accident that left him wheelchair bound.
