Johannesburg - Tenor Jannie Moolman was discharged from hospital at the weekend and was back at his Johannesburg home, his spokesman said on Monday.

“Doctors are pleased with his progress, but he still has a recovery phase of several weeks and is still under medical treatment,” Barnard Beukman said.

Beukman said Moolman had bone fractures to his face and left hand and underwent two operations. A third operation was on a cut close to his left eye. On April 10, he underwent an operation to his face to mend six bone fractures.

On April 30, Beukman said Moolman's recovery was progressing well.

It was unclear whether Moolman remembered what happened to him. He was treated at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.

Moolman was injured at the Mango restaurant in Hartbeespoort, North West. Beeld newspaper reported that he fell from the second floor of a restaurant at a bachelor party.
