SHE’S BEEN on safari photographing wildlife in Gauteng and spent time with penguins in the Mother City and tonight Grammy award-winning R&B singer Rihanna will perform the Cape Town leg of her Diamonds World Tour.
The singer posted pictures of her visit to Cape Town’s Two Oceans Aquarium. One image shows the star just before a shark cage diving in Gansbaai. Rihanna shared the images with her followers while spending the day with her mother and a few relatives during some down time between shows.
The stage is set for the Barbadian songstress to perform at the Cape Town Stadium.
It is not her first South African performance – having opened for hip-hop artist Jay-Z in 2006.
The managing director of Big Concerts, Justin van Wyk, said the concert was all systems go.
“Yes the stage is set – and it’s a very big stage, can I add,” he said.
Organisers have warned that cool weather was expected with a slight chance of rain in the evening.
“Unfortunately, they can’t bring umbrellas, but we will encourage people to come prepared for cooler weather,” Van Wyk said.
Fans have been encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.
Rihanna has won six Grammy Awards and sold more than 41 million records and more than 150 million digital tracks.
The tour has already done the rounds in the US, Canada, Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
Gates open at 5pm.
