London - A Secret Service agent is set to help save Chris Brown from going to prison.
The 24-year-old star - who is currently in rehab - was arrested for assault after allegedly punching a man outside a hotel on Sunday (27.10.13), but a member of the US law enforcement agency is reportedly backing a witness's claim that the rapper didn't hit him.
According gossip website TMZ.com - which obtained official documents - a witness to the fight claims he heard a victim tell a police officer Chris never hit him.
The officer later denied contact with the victim, but a Secret Service agent has been in touch with the police and alleges he heard the victim's admission to the officer.
The agent could testify on Chris' behalf and prosecutors may drop the case.
The man and a friend had reportedly attempted to insert themselves in a picture the singer was taking with two females outside the hotel. A law enforcement source claimed that the R&B star said, "I'm not into this gay s**t, I'm into boxing," before punching the man, breaking his nose.
The singer is still on probation for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna, 25, in February 2009 and his latest arrest could be deemed a violation of his probation, resulting in a potential four-year prison sentence. - Bang Showbiz
