Johannesburg - With a new Star Wars sequel in the works, fans are dying to know just which actors will sign up for the seventh chapter of this inter-galactic saga.

Names like Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving and Adam Driver have been bandied about, according to the Hoolywood Reporter.

Fassbender allegedly met with Abrams in December fueling the speculation, while two sources told the Hollywood Reporter that Weaving could play an Imperial Commander.

Whether that speculation turns out to be the truth is anyone’s guess. A long list of actors are rumoured to have had meetings with Abrams, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Alex Pettyfer.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons met with Abrams to discuss a role in the new movie, and possible involvement in the entire trilogy.

Plemons’ resemblance to Mark Hamill, who played the iconic Luke Skywalker, adds fuel to the rumours that he could play Skywalker’s son.

Another rumour has Abrams searching for a young mixed-race actress, possibly to play the daughter or granddaughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

What can be confirmed is that some of the original Star Wars actors will have larger roles in the new film than orginally thought

Fans of the original film will no doubt be delighted that Harrison Ford (now 71), Carrie Fisher (57) and Mark Hamill (62) will once more play the characters that first put them on the map. - Tonight Reporter
