REVENGE

(Season 2)

***

The need for vengeance gets sidetracked by romance, loyalty, ambition and friendship.

REVENGE smacked of devilishly intriguing deception, romance and twisted drama. And, boy oh boy, did Mike Kelley deliver! Although, there was a point in the latter part of Season 1 when interest waned a bit.

Season 2 bounced back with many curve balls added to Emily Thorne’s (aka Amanda Clarke, played by Emily VanCamp) large-scale vendetta against the Graysons for not only tarnishing the reputation of her father, but also having a hand in his death.

Following the cliffhanger ending of the previous season, queen bitch Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) it seems is very much alive.

While still on track with the execution of her plan, Emily – single again after her engagement to Daniel is called off – is sidetracked by several things. Firstly, her mother is alive and returns – although, mummy dearest believes that the fake Amanda is her daughter. Aside from the emotions that are triggered, a suppressed childhood memory of her mother trying to drown her also surfaces. Did I mention her mother was married to the mysterious man responsible for killing her father?

Meanwhile, the Graysons hit their fair share of troubles with Daniel, now the chief executive of Grayson Global, making an easy target by the American Initiative, a secret organisation.

In the interim, Declan’s reckless behaviour brings more trouble to the Porter family, who welcomed a new addition with the birth of baby Carl.

As for Nolan, he surprises by embarking on a romance with Padma Lahari, who unbeknown to him, is a plant to extract information from him. Well, we thought he liked boys!

Just when the drama threatens to reach dizzy heights – Emily is confronted with Aiden Mathis, a lover from her past.

And you know what they say about the best laid plans… well, that is what happens to resident gold-digger Ashley Davenport.

There are many skeletons let out of the cupboard, with politics rearing its ugly head too.
