Enemies hit the road in Costa Rica

to sw Real World Road Rules The Rivals

They say keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. Real World Road Rules Challenge: The Rivals took that phrase too literally and came up with an interesting concept in the The Challenge series of shows. Having made friends and enemies previously in The Challenge and The Real World, on this show producers place worst enemies on the same transportation to travel through Costa Rica.

How many times have you sat with someone on a plane and wished you could eject their seat midflight? And that’s for perfect strangers.

Imagine being in that same position with your enemy. Of course there will be blood, and Real World Road Rules Challenge: The Rivals cashes in on this.

Different parties have different reasons for not getting along. Take Aneesa and Robin, whose beef is about what Robin said about Aneesa’s sexual preference. You know this is going to be trouble whether it is on TV or not.

Tyrie and Dave had to be held back by the crew after their argument turned violent. Dave had, in a drunken state, said something that was considered racist by Tyrie. It will be interesting to see how they fare in this new challenge.

Evelyn and Paula have some unfinished business that has to do with back-stabbing before this show. The tension between the two will be measured by how long they can stay calm on the Costa Rican journey.

Also, Jasmine and Jonna are still getting over the love triangle fiasco they were involved in back in the first season, The Real World: Cancun.

You don’t need me to tell you all hell is going to break loose on Real World Road Rules Challenge: The Rivals.

• Real World Road Rules Challenge: The Rivals airs on MTV Base (DStv channel 322) from Monday, August 13, at 10pm.
