Kat fights & kold snaps with Kardashians

FAMOUS for being famous – that’s become the tagline for the Kardashians. Although, I’m not sure that’s their favourite brand to date.

But, even if they didn’t have a thick skin to be indifferent about it, they sure as hell have a big enough bank balance and enviable wardrobe, not to mention that they are media darlings, selling magazines faster than Rob could probably down a Big Mac Meal.

The cult craze with this reality family has spiralled to levels of insanity over the years:

Whether it’s starting another spin-off show, opening a new D.A.S.H. store, Kourtney and Scott Disick hitting another bump in their tumultuous relationship, Kim embroiled in another celeb beef incident with Beyoncé or Khloé having an emotional meltdown after the collapse of her marriage. That’s not forgetting the Jenner offspring – Kylie and Kendall – making quite a bit of noise on the social scene.

This season reveals tears in the fabric of this celebrity family with the demise of momager Kris and Bruce Jenner’s more than 20-year marriage. Turns out, he liked her dresses a lot – but on him.

Nevertheless, the siblings seem to have taken the bombshell announcement in their stride. Although, they have been very tight-lipped about his sex change… until recently.

At E!’s press junket earlier in the year, Kim and Khloé shed light on their 10-year journey with the show.

Kim said: “To be honest, it’s insane. We talk about it sometimes and can’t believe that we have gone on for 10 seasons and, I think, nine spin-off seasons.”

She expanded on how her priorities have changed: “When you have a baby, you feel so protective and want to have your days off. My husband always says if we can just have Sunday off it would be such a great compromise. But I wouldn’t give up the life we have. We get to travel the world… to places we never would have gone had it not been for the show.”

Khloé added: “I always say, our show brings us closer together. Normally, when you start with your own families, you have your own kids and are off doing your own thing with that family. Our show makes us spend more quality time together.”

The snippet that really got fans going this season was Kim’s comment: “I’m not buying you a pair of shoes. I bought you a f**king career”. Not wanting to give away whom she was talking about, Kim clarifies: “That was not to Kendall. It was to another sister…”

She also pointed out that while Kanye West was instrumental in guiding Kendall’s decision to explore the fashion circles, her accomplishments on the ramp are her own doing.

On their not-so-flattering candid moments, Khloé defended: “I think when things are good, you obviously want to shout them from the rooftops: ‘Everyone film me. Everyone look at this’. You want to be boastful. Of course, when things are bad, it’s natural to want to hide under a rock or be like, now I wish this never happened. I don’t think that way. I believe everything happens for a reason. I can’t be the only person going through this in my life. I really hope the ups and downs in all of our lives hopefully relate or help somebody through something.”

That said, volcanic melodramas are in store this season: Kris’s new toy boy does not go down well with the girls, Kourtney is furious about being used in Kim’s new video game and, when it all gets too much, the family decide it’s time for their annual holiday and head to a winter wonderland.

• Keeping Up with the Kardashians airs on Sunday on E! (DStv channel 124) at 8pm.
