Bonang Matheba must know all the lyrics to DJ Khaled's hit song All I Do Is Win because the song should be her anthem.

Her influence and image seems to be everywhere – her name is already a byword for style and glamour. This TV presenter and social media phenomenon is fast becoming one of the most powerful celebrity to have graced our screens. By the look of things, this is only the beginning.

Just when you think you have her all figured out, the Bonang drops a bombshell and refuses to be pigeon-holed.

It wasn’t so long ago that we learnt that she had scored a new spot on Mzansi Magic as the host of a new show, Clash of the Choirs.

Gossipers came out with reports that this career move resulted in her being fired from the SABC because her new spot represented a conflict of interest. But before Clash of the Choirs has even started, Matheba has already landed the presenting job on another show – this time, the hugely popular lifestyle magazine programme, Top Billing, which is on SABC3.

You almost feel like she is saying the proverbial “Boom!” that Nonhle Thema always said to her detractors.

Joining the all-star team of Lorna Maseko, Janez Vermeiren, Ursula Chikane, Simba Mhere, Jonathan Boynton-Lee and Jo-Ann Strauss, Matheba is sure to be right at home. It will be necessary for the others to pay attention, as Matheba will show them just what brings in the ratings.

With a track record that started when she was only 15, it is no wonder that Matheba has had enough time to hone her craft to the point that she is almost flawless at it.

“Bonang represents true South African talent with her unique brand essence that captivates audiences,” said Basetsana Kumalo, Tswelopele Productions’ executive producer.

“She is a refreshing, relevant and inspiring young woman, who exudes warmth, grace and charm. She will bring her own signature to the show and it’s a pleasure to welcome her to the Top Billing family,” she concluded.

• Top Billing airs every Tuesday on SABC3 at 8pm.
