What do Mike Tyson, an alcoholic pigeon and a ghost have in common?

If you’’re scratching your head right now, you’ve pretty much summed up the response to a new cartoon series that features the boxing legend, and his two bizarre sidekicks.

Titled Mike Tyson’s Mysteries, the series is a Scooby-Doo-styled crime series which premiered at Comic-Con in San Diego this year.

It features a track-suited Tyson, voiced by himself, complete with his signature facial tattoo, engaging in adventures alongside a talking pigeon and the ghost of the Marquess of Queensbury and his adopted daughter Yung Hee.

Naturally, since this is a Tyson project, boxing features prominently in the story. The Marquess of Queensbury is credited with formulating the rules of modern-day boxing.

Who Tyson gets to punch, however, signals the start of some baffling scripting. Among the opponents for the former Baddest Man on the Planet is a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and a centaur.

Tyson’s most formidable opponent however, is the English language. In the pilot episode, he is enlisted to help novelist Cormac McCarthy with a case of writer’s block. Tyson’’s inability to pronounce the writer’s name is seen as the highlight of a show written with the express purpose of mining the absurd for laughs. - Tonight Reporter
