Gareth Cliff has taken to Twitter and the airwaves to voice his anger at the SABC.
This morning the 5FM early morning DJ said on Twitter: “Executive Producer @ThaboModisane suspended by management for a week... because one FUCKING ASSHOLE complained about the word FUCK.”
On air, just before the 6.30am news, he explained that Modisane had allowed the F-word to slip through on a clip, and had been suspended for a week because of this after one complaint from a listener.
He was audibly cross, threatening not to work on Thursday and Friday and complaining of poor communication from the SABC.
Later, he tweeted: “Let's get #Fuck trending on Twitter this morning. I'm so tired of this childish attitude some people have to swearing” - and then said: “Even Twitter won't let #Fuck trend. Uptight much?” (though at least one person then was able to use the hashtag in a tweet).
At the time of writing, Modisane’s Twitter page carried no comment on the issue. - IOL
